Listeners can bid for an array of unique experiences that money simply can't buy, which this year include a flight to the Royal International Air Tattoo in a De Havilland Vampire T11; a walk down the red carpet at the 2012 British Academy Television Awards and mingling with the winners at the aftershow party; joining the captain on the bridge of a luxurious cruise ship; and a cookery lesson with Raymond Blanc's team.
Following Sir Terry, Richard and Judy present their first Radio 2 show together from 1-3pm to launch Radio 2's Children in Need Jukebox, which continues throughout Sunday afternoon in Michael Ball (3-5pm) and Paul O'Grady (5-7pm) and returns on Appeal Day itself, Friday 18 November. During each Jukebox show, listeners can pledge money for a chance to hear their favourite song on Radio 2 and special guests will be dropping in to lend their support.
And on Friday, in his Breakfast Show after 7am, Chris Evans launches Radio 2's Children in Need Jukebox on Appeal Day. It continues throughout Friday with Ken Bruce, Jeremy Vine, Patrick Kielty and Simon Mayo leading the fundraising with special guests. | Thanks Mark. First thing I notice is that Steve Wright has gone on holiday when the cameras are around (again) and, secondly, I had no idea Tony Blackburn was in Westlife (no wonder you had to repeat it - I wouldn't have believed you first time round)! |

With the usual array of self congratulatory annoying presenters on duty presiding over a day of programmes guaranteed to irritate us all to distraction I think I might just do the same

Same old same old. I haven't watched CiN since the days of Joanna Lumley. Is it Corrie's or Eastender's turn this year. And what will the News Team dress up as this year, I wonder

I remember when a few years back they used one of the old studios for CIN day and the webcam was on even during Steve Wright, he was hiding himself.  |

I know i am turning into a miserable old git but i avoid cin as much as possible.I do give money to two certain charities because of what they do.I don't wan't to be force fed by z list celeb's as to who to give money to

I don't think it's been the same since they froze out the R2 'night shift'. Remember when Radio 2's 'music marathon' started at 7:00pm on Thursday evening and finished at 7:00pm Friday evening, thereby involving everyone, not just those in the 'prime-time' slots!

Me too.
I don't post much on here any more since I rarely listen to R2 nowadays, but I would say that I find the timing of CIN extremely poor this year. Not only is it Remembrance Sunday on the 13th but this year's also the 90th anniversary year of the Royal British Legion. Given the work that the latter do for ALL ex-servicemen (unlike Help for Heroes and the other bandwaggon-jumpers who only cater for post-Gulf soldiers and veterans) I think the wall-to-wall coverage of CIN on the BBC could easily have been moved to avoid a clash on the most important day of the Legion's calendar. |

| Money that people can't really afford in this econmical times, but they do bounce there credit cards to bid for these prizes. I wonder what the special prize will be for those hard up listeners this year? |

I doubt people bounce their cards to get these things. They do say they check out high bids to make sure they are genuine as well.
I know someone who bid £40,000+ and won on Wogan a few years back. She took over her father's large company which was always extremely generous to school projects 40 years ago. It's often company money that is given but whatever it is, I don't complain because the money IMHO is going to a good cause.

I work for a mental health charity - Alzheimers and Dementia mainly - and we'd be ecstatic for just one per cent of what CiN gets. Still, I can't see Wogan doing something for Grannies in Need. No milegae in that for him.

Mr Wogan does what is in his own interest - we all remember that occasion a few years ago when he claimed that he was unaware that he was being paid for fronting the show - does he really think that people are so stupid as to believe that
After all he is a former banker which really says it all

They don't do anything for nothing. Look at the new health lottery and Eamonn Holmes is one of the presidents. I can't see he dosn't receive a payment for that. They get free meals, etc etc which does cost something to put on. There needs to be reheasals during the week, people need feeding and putting up in hotels and transported to and from TV centre. This all costs. I think the BBC puts on the big night which comes a BBC licence payers cost, and those underpaid freelancers behind the cameras and producers all need paid. So your right Wogan & Co must take something. An apperance fee, too help his pension. |

| It's hotseat change today and Evans should have got out the way whilst the traffic was read out before Ken. l wish listeners would'nt keep asking for anything, they seem to just want there names read out. Keep hearing the same norm music. |

I'm avoiding Radio 2 all day today and was quite happily listening to Smooth until around 11.30am when the dreaded Alan Carr suddenly turned up being interviewed by Mark Goodier - is there no escape from that imbecilic idiot?
I've now had to resort to Classic FM as even the BBC I Player will not work for me today on any of the Radio 2 output and the same happened yesterday when I reported it in the hope the problem would be sorted out
Pity it's not Friday the 13th as I would have probably had a much better day

Even my wife (normally very quiet) said to me earlier this evening "his rug is looking very tired".

| A rare day off and I caught Ken Bruce & Jeremy Vine. Although not paying close attention I am sure that Twiggy got in a mention of her new CD ( didn't know she could sing) on KB and dear old Sir Cliff certainly plugged his new CD with JV's help within the first minute of his appearance. JV then played at least three Cliff songs in the next 90 minutes ( cleverly disguised as listeners requests for Children in Need) |

Small issue of geography--both Jeremy Vine and Sir Cliff Richard thought Tarporley was in Scotland. Wonder what the residents of the pleasant Cheshire market town made of that.
