Israeli President Moshe Katsav has informed the Knesset that he is taking a 'leave of absence' following the announcement that he is to be indicted.

The 61-year-old is facing charges which include raping a female employee when he was tourism minister, sexual harassment, abuse of power, breach of trust and accepting bribes.
