Have been listening to this station for a month or so when there is nothing that appeals of Radio 2.
http://www.181.fm/ It's internet radio station and plays 50s/60s music and ads are few and far between. The mix is good and I keep jotting down 2 or 3 titles to put on a playlist in the future of tracks I already have.
There are quite a few others on the same site which could appeal. I've tried the Beatles one but that's all so far.
It's available on internet radio as well as on a pc.

I was listening to Steve Wright (first time in a long time) and he said Cheryl Cole was coming on for an interview so I was looking to change stations ..saw this thread ..gave it a listen ..50's and 60's ...first three ...James Brown, Sam Cooke and now The Kalin Twins ... ..thanks Helen! ...I'll be bookmarking the page.... |

The radio's been on in the office and because I can't stream Radio Caroline (no playlists at all!) due to bandwidth restrictions with my office landlord my radio is stuck on boring old Radio 2. As I type, Wright is "interviewing" Cheryl Cole. Not only is this utterly boring, but she sounds disinterested and it's evident that she's only there because she's "doing press" on her upcoming arena tour. I'm sure she'd rather be out shopping for exclusive designer brand clothes in which to be photographed by the paps against her wishes.
The question I have to ask is: "What's the point of Cheryl Cole?". |

5 crisp white shirts plus the rest. 
BTW there are a few rock stations which may interest you on the 181fm site link.

Well, I assume she does ironing - but given that I live in t-shirts and jeans she doesn't have much to do for me!!!

It's OK Helen, I have Radio Caroline to keep me all warm and cuddly. Unsigned and unheard of bands plus a good dollop of classic album music, not all rock either! |
