I remember his breakfast show on Radio 2. Many thought him an odd choice at the time but I enjoyed his show.
RIP

I heard your comment on the JV Show today Helen
To me the whole thing feels like a piece of history
I really enjoyed that period of time but still listened to Radio One in those days so never really got to hear much of Derek's show which in a way I now regret _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

Can't remember who was on R1 back then but I'd given up on it for a lot of the daytime listening, if I wasn't at work.
Strangely it feels a bit historical to me as well but I'm glad I listened. One thing I do remember him having was the sports news with a much younger John Inverdale, Ian Darke and there was a female whose name I don't remember.

I remember hearing Jamieson's Radio 2 breakfast show on occasions and I thought it was awful. I think Simon Mayo was doing R1 at the time which provided a much better alternative. |

He was on late at night with his wife SF, some time after he left the Breakfast show but he was never on at lunchtimes, that was Jimmy Young territory! I don't think I ever heard the evening show.

I remember him and his wife doing the late night show and remember him as being quite funny. |
