There was an excellent adaptation of Alan Plater's musical about the social history of the Durham mining industry on Radio 4 yetaerday afternoon. The songs written by Alex Glasgow still sound fresh & witty forty years on from its original production. |

Just seen this Graham and a bit about it on the programme info.

Looking at the cast list I realise I knew Nicholas Lumley as as child and his sister Caroline too! His late father was local dentist and a good friend of my Dad. I knew he'd gone into acting but don't know much of what he's done over the years. I would get bits of news that my Dad had found out.
Think I'll record it for later listening as I'm a bit busy at the moment.
Thanks for posting though!

Thanks for that Graham. Alan Plater was a wonderful writer and I didn't notice this in the schedules. |
