This morning out walking with Hooby (our dog) while listening to Chris Evans on my phone, we (Hooby and I), came upon this view after jumping the stile to the third field. The juxtaposition between what I could hear and what I could see was quite a moment. The well-disguised organisation of urban chaos, the soundtrack of beautifully poetic, metropolitan mayhem, blasting in my freezing ears, standing face to face with a vision of unflinching peace and tranquillity, far, from the madding crowd. Two worlds collide in a delicious, harmonious sensory casserole that was really quite a treat. It's been raining for months!! And the builders are still here!!!!!!! |

If I had a dog I daresay I'd be able to share the experience with you, Rach (albeit 200 miles apart).
As it is, I'm rather glad I haven't. As you say, it has been raining for months, and you can't walk over any of our country fields and footpaths without ending up more than ankle deep in mud worse than treacle.
