Quote: | The pay-off made to former BBC director general George Entwistle - who quit in the wake of the Jimmy Savile sex abuse scandal - has been criticised by MPs.
The £450,000 paid to Mr Entwistle after just 54 days in the job was a "cavalier" use of public money, the Commons Public Accounts Committee said. |

It also does have a cavalier way of conducting themselves - not just wasting public money, but the way they move staff and bring them back from gardening leave. Where has the Five Live controller moved too etc etc? Seems Tim Davie is being used as a muppet, and been put in front of the cameras as he's a safe pair of hands or the BBC spokesperson ( Not a controller ). ( I read he's staying in the job until March 2013 )
I guess Lord Pattern will disappear once there is some sort of order in place. |

£450K isn't much in the whole scheme of things, in some circles it's not even a decent car.
It's no biggy.
I'd rather be boss of a brilliant beeb than sat at home with a heap of cash. |

I shouldn't think so - he's head of BBC Trust! Not just standing in, like Richard Allinson in flu season.
Obviously, that's a hefty payoff for Entwistle but it's a bit hypocritcal of MPs (who vote for their own pay rises) to complain about wastes of public money. |

And what about all this bleating from the hypocritical tabloid press when they themselves were prosecuted for contempt of court in a well known recent case - I don't recall any of those responsible being given their marching orders _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |
