.....a film
I have recently watched a couple of films where an actor in each case has stood out for different reasons ..
In The Lincoln Lawyer Matthew McConaughey...the lead role in it ...nearly spoilt it for me with his awful acting whilst Gene Hackman turned in another, seemingly effortless performance in The Firm (a film for whatever reason I haven't caught up with until now)
Are there any actors who have made or marred a film for you? |

Dennis Hopper in Apocalypse Now. I was willing the Vietcong to kill him, after ten minutes or so. _________________ life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans |

Reminds me of the little girl in the remake of War of the Worlds a few years ago..... she screamed and screamed incessantly throughout the whole film. I would have handed her over to the aliens about half way through.
They reckon the aliens died of some earthly virus that they had no immunity to, but I think they didn't bring ear plugs and just ran out of paracetamol. |

I can't stand Daniel Craig. It's not that he's a bad actor or anything, I just don't like him. |

I haven't seen it, but I will now you've mentioned it.
Kids in particular seem to have the power to make or break a film. They are a really crucial casting decision.
Natalie Portman was great in Leon. |

Me too, in fact I don't think he's a good actor.
The only good film Tom Cruise is any good in.... Rain Man _________________ -

When I was younger I admit to not fully appreciating the acting talents of the not so conventionally, handsome looking actors because I was too busy being dazzled by the looks of their handsome co-stars but watching an old Hitchcock film (I Confess) the other night although I was still dazzled by the mesmerisingly handsome face of Montgomery Clift (no shabby actor, either) I was able to more than appreciate the superb acting talent of Karl Malden ...both had enormous presence on the silver screen...you just have to be a bit (?) older to appreciate these things,I guess.
The film is dated but it is worth a watch just to see the above two at work. |

Far and Away was quite good too, but yes Rain Man is a wonderful film. |

I'm not a fan of either Daniel Craig or Tom Cruise, but Tom, apart from being good in Rain Man, was quite brilliant in Magnolia.
