After months of upheaval with the builders and mum in law moving in straight after, which was a bit like absorbing East Germany, we have very nearly got our music room back together. Link above. Just a few pictures to frame and hang , then that's it!

How many icons can you spot in the photo? If you think laterally, you should get somewhere near 30.

Interestingly the wooden carving "LoveMusic" is/was a gift I made for someone but never got the chance to give it to them. Took six weeks to carve it by hand from one bit of wood, painted with gold paint mixed with gold dust. A little inscription on the back. Tis the only one on the planet.

I can only identify seven or eight really... Embarassed

Beatles.. Union Flag.. Alex Lester.. Abbey Road crossing.. Is that Blondie??.. Adele... Marshall amp and Stratocaster..

Is that a regular Strat? it doesn't look like the usual "Fender Stratocaster" decal near the machine heads...
and, who's the band on the right gold disc? looks to be only four of them? those Beatle boys again? Razz

Well done Santa, you have some of them, it’s not a Strad, just a lookalike, sounds good though. The Gold Disc on the right is a Platinum Disc – Ticket to Ride by you guessed it.

I’ll list all the icons in the photo, and tomorrow, I’ll explain where they are. Some of them are quite difficult to see, tenuous even but they’re there, if you look hard enough. (Icon might be a bit of a stretch with some of them)

1. Marshall Amps
2. Beatles
3. Sex Pistols
4. Paul McCartney
5. Robbie Williams
6. John Lennon
7. Debbie Harry
8. Johnny Rotten
9. Diana Ross
10. Abbey Road
11. Avril Lavigne
12. Adele
13. Elton John
14. Bernie Taupin
15. Ringo Starr
16. Don McLean
17. The Simpsons
18. Blondie
19. Union Flag
20. Alex Lester (in various stages of his life)
21. Wings
22. George Harrison
23. Madonna
24. St Michael’s Mount
25. Losing one’s virginity.
26. The Best Time of the Day Show.
27. Buddy Holly
28. Radio 2
29. Darts
30. Andy Warhol

What about the Yamahas and Welmar upright? If nothing else the trademark of the former and the artistic form of the latter are icons.

There's the makings of a cool but slightly keyboard-heavy supergroup in that room!

Yeah there's probably more there than meets the eye, Ron. Hubby (Chris) has a few friends who come around with other noise makers, I tend to keep out of the way being mostly not very good at anything.

So how did I claim 30 Icons? Apparently there's more than that.

A couple of close ups will help with some of them, I'll put those at the top in a moment.

It's like this , the Boots are Johnny Rotten's boots, he was in the Sex Pistols. Avril Lavigne has been seen with a pair the same.
With the Beatles you get John, Paul, Ringo and George. Andy Warhol did the picture of Debbie Harry, she was in Blondie. The little black space between two Alex Lesters ( he works at Radio 2) is a Best Time of The Day Show Picture post card. Underneath Alex and behind the Gold letter L is a couple of sets of pilot Wings. (see close up). There's an Adele, Elton John and Robbie Williams songbook on the piano , Bernie Taupin co wrote the Elton John songs. Sticking out the bottom( I should rephrase that) of Robbie Williams is the sheet music for American Pie by Don McLean , Madonna also did that track , it was about Buddy Holly. The Darts LP was my my first LP, which is a bit like losing your virginity , you never forget it. The Simpsons are on the Abbey Road crossing. If you take away all the guff there's my new piano and my old piano, which was a track by Diana Ross.

I'll be writing clues for that Dusty Bin Show next.
