Did anyone hear Bob Harris on today's edition? Thoroughly enjoyable. First track featured was the prophetic Mark Germino 'Rex Bob Lowenstein'. Kirsty Young even apologised for truncating the song! Definitely worth a listen: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006qnmr _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

I missed it this week but it's an essential listen on Fridays (and a welcome alternative to Radio 2 at that time of day). I'll catch up on iPlayer. |

Thanks for the reminder I saw it mentioned on Twitter the other day.

I did,LEE and as you say it was very enjoyable!
I heard him tell the story about his mother and David Jacobs when David died.
I could never pick just one song as my all time favourite one but he did...most emphatically! |

I couldn't pick just one song either, Becky. I'd find it hard to pick the full eight tracks needed for the show, or even ten for Ken Bruce's 'tracks of my years' feature, not that I'd ever get asked, with me not even being a minor celeb!! _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

Ah, sorry...I posted about this DID on a David Jacobs thread.
I was quite relieved when Rex Bob Lowenstein was just short, tbh. It does go on a bit. I knew what his all time favouirite record was, as he shoehorns it into his Saturday night programmes occasionally.
I'd find it difficult to pick the eight records, but my luxury item, would be Kirsty Young. _________________ life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans |
