A survey carried out by "Which" who spoke to more than 7,400 regular passengers produced satisfaction scores of 50% or less for 11 out of 19 train operators surveyed. Bottom of the table were Greater Anglia and Southeastern, which run commuter services out of London, with the most satisfied customers travelling on Merseyrail, a self-contained network around Liverpool. The best scores for commuter trains went to National Express's C2C line, with Virgin topping the long-distance table, and beleaguered First Great Western rated the worst.

Lot of the time due to engineering works and poor weather conditions passengers do sit on buses. They want improvements to the network, so you should really blame Network Rail who own the tracks not the trains.

As was mentioned today all they have to do is to wait until each rail franchise expires - not renew it - and then run the whole lot in public ownership which would cost virtually nothing apart from the small cost of new livery for trains and rolling stock

I'm a great fan of privatisation when it works but certainly not in the case of things like railways and water companies Sad
