Another big shock to hear about Prince today. I really liked his music, he was so innovative and different.

2016 has not been kind so far has it? Sad

No it hasn't. It turns out that he was only one year older than me!

Well he died four years younger than I am now - so I reckon I'm really cooking on gas right now - hopefully not the kind of gas they have down the crematorium

Sorry I don't mean to offend anyone and I do have the greatest respect for the dead but I do think this man was really overrated in terms of musical ability but I suppose he did have many fans who will regret his passing

RIP Prince

I tend to agree with you Ruddles. I can't stand all that 1999/When Doves Cry stuff, though I did like the guitar solo on Purple Rain.

Having said that, about eight years ago I got a free CD with the Daily Mail called Planet Earth and it is superb.

And of course he wrote Nothing Compares To You, though his version was awful compared to Sinead O'Connor's.

Schiz - I did hear an extract on radio today when Prince formed part of a supergroup along with others including Tom Petty and he played the guitar solo on George Harrison's track 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps' and that was excellent

I just think that he was a lot better playing other peoples music than his own Smile

I heard that on JV yesterday Ruddles. I wasn't a fan, but I did like 1999!
