The latest from Radio 2's "bloody stupid ideas" file is to have Ed Miliband and Iain Duncan Smith each present the Jeremy Vine show for a whole week at the end of the month.
“I am delighted that Ed Miliband and Iain Duncan Smith will be presenting The Jeremy Vine Show,” said Lewis Carnie, the head of BBC Radio 2. “Both have held crucial roles in political life and will bring unique perspectives and insight to the programme, in the heart of the daytime schedule.”
Haven't these MPs got anything better to do? The idea of a whole week of IDS makes me want to smash my head hard against a wall. |

Apparently it's supposed to be reviving a practice which was started by Jimmy Young many years ago - I certainly don't remember it _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

I was just going to say it's been done before. I can remember listening to Charles Kennedy and he was really good. You get to know the person a bit as well.

Why would you do that, when you can use his head to do it? _________________ life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans |

Heard some of today's programme,Helen...and I agree, he wasn't bad at all.
I would get rid of my new toilet in a heartbeat...nowhere near as good a flush as the one it replaced!
Those who listened to today's programme will know what I'm on about. |

I preferred his efforts to those of the regular presenter - perhaps he might follow in the steps of Mr Portillo
I'm not a fan of Mr Ed usually but he's doing a great job this week
Hope IDS is as accomplished next week
As for toilets I've just had a new fangled version installed and in my view you can't beat a full flush - isn't that something you get in poker _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |
