Ronan O'Rahilly the founder of Radio Caroline has passed away aged 79 years.
He changed the lives of a great many people, including groups who couldn't get their records played anywhere, to ordinary kids like me.
R.I.P. Ronan and thank you.

I can't begin to articulate what great joy and pleasure Radio Caroline brought to me in my younger days. Cool

I hadn't seen this news anywhere, before I saw your post.

Becky, last Friday's edition of the Last Word on Radio 4 had a really nice tribute to Ronan. It was on at 4pm and repeated on Sunday at 8.30pm.
It is well worth a listen.

Thanks Angela - I listened to it after seeing your post. A really nice tribute.The word charismatic was repeated a few times describing Ronan.
