This went out last night but will be on iPlayer and there is at least one more episode. He did a previous series, I think about music in movies, and it was very good. This guy is great at the piano.

I've got it on record so not watched yet but heard a trail on Radio 2 which reminded me.

I love a bit of Neil Brand, H. I think this is his fourth series. He did The Sound Of Musicals, The Sound Of Song and The Sound Of Cinema. I've watched most of them quite a few times. He's a fascinating man and I would have thought his previous programmes would be on iPlayer during lockdown, but sadly not.

The Musicals and two of The Cinema can be found on Dailymotion.

Sound Of Musicals is repeated, starting tonight. Always worth another look.

Also, this might appeal to some - including me.

The Joy Of Easy Listening. 12.00 tonight on BBC 4. I've you've already had your Horlicks by then, set the recorder...

Yes Raver, I watched (yet again!) that first episode of The Sound of Musicals. Neil Brand is such an engaging chap. It was somewhat poignant to see Anna-Jane Casey during rehearsals - she who during the pandemic has become a delivery driver, as has her husband. Sad.

I have to come clean...I've not yet got around to watching it again, Eileen. But I will do it today or tomorrow. Thanks for the info about Anna-Jane Casey. I had no idea she's now a delivery driver (as are most of the country it seems...mine is due between 3-5 this very afternoon), It's tragic to seethe Arts decimated like this, but with a lot of luck, maybe next year, if it's not too late.

Having just googled her after reading your post, I also discovered that she is a bit of a fan of Marina Hyde - columnist for The Guardian, as am I, according to her Twitter feed. So I'm now following her. thanks to you. Not stalking, you understand!
