Have just heard the sad news that Judith Durham from the Seekers has died aged 79. She was ill in 2013 and their farewell tour had to be postponed until the following year. I was luck enough to see the Seekers on that tour. A performance I'll always remember.

RIP

I heard it on Roger Day's My Generation show a few minutes ago, H. When I googled- out of shock more than anything - only Australian sources were there. Nothing from the BBC. Could you imagine that happening back in the 60's, when for a time, they were as big as anyone.

Her voice still reaches the parts that others can't, for me. Very sad. Somewhere, there's a heavenly choir made richer...thanks for the memories, Judith.

A nice one from the Guardian, H. So loved by her country.

Was really sad to hear this news today.

Her voice was such a joy to listen to - just beautiful.

Have read many lovely tweets about her - this is a favourite from Danny Kelly.

'RIP the blessed Judith Durham. And no, The Seekers aren't a "guilty pleasure" or a "secret shame". They were a great folk/pop group. And Judith could sing the slates off a church roof! Love her.'
