AsI said on the Lynn Bowles thread. If LD is interfering in WUTW, can she please do the same in the afternoon and remove Organic Janey and timnicebutdim.

There was no need to act this prior to Boggy's retirement.

When is Boggy's official retirement date?

His birthday is July 28th so it will probably be on or near that day.

Ladies and Gents, Let's not store up troubles where there may be none. We have the Togmeister for as long as we have him. Enjoy the music, the banter with the TOGS and the gentle sideswipes at his colleagues.

Perhaps there going to run with JW for a few weeks before the permanent presenter takes over. This would make sense because lyn always does travel with Johnnie at breakfast. Having JW for a few weeks would be less harsh than Terry finishing 9.30 on Friday and someone else taking over 7.30 the next monday. very sad if true though Sad

No one has said Terry is leaving General Numpty, it's just supposition with the change in travel presenters.

I'm hoping we will have Terry for a little while longer.

I really hope so, Helen but with LD I have learnt to look on the black side!

Terry has a time scale when he wants to leave. Him and Lesley may have discussed this, but he will give her the wink when he's ready. I think it will be a few more years, but you never know what is around the corner.

I think we may know a few names in the hat already, but we know this can change. So speculation dosn't always work.

So there is speculation that Terry Wogan may be going-he has certainly had a long innings so I welcome the news. It's about time there was some change to the daytime schedules.

Bring in Richard Allinson as the replacement for the breakfast show.

PS-Lesley-Any chance you could retire Sarah Kennedy off at the same time please.

No as he's not high profile for Richard comments. ( and thats not saying he's not a good broadcaster ) No as Sarah is fine and attracts a number of listeners and entertains with he banter etc..

He will know when he wants to leave but I honestly can't see it being years (though I wish it was) in view of what has happened to his team it's more likely to be months.

Marty Whelan's free from March onwards. He is an Irish DJ who basically modelled his style on Wogan. Irish station 2fm have axed his show. He would be perfect for Terry's show. Plus he's 50, so he would still be able for those 4 flights of stairs in Weston house. Smile

Phill Jupitus is a lot younger than 50 and he sounded like he was going to need oxygen after using the stairs. Laughing

Chris to Fran tonight: "We must start a campaign for Terry to be nicer to you in the mornings"

So I take it from that Terry will still be chatting to Fran, Boggy & Deadly during the show. Maybe they are going to do a longer chat after the news bulletins?

Or they might just being masking something. Confused TW's show sounded pretty much normal today but then again he's hardly going to say might be leaving until he's ready to do so.

We'll just have to wait and see what happens. Very Happy

It's been a regular comment since people were trying to remove certain presenters on the old R2 MB, and they have continued with it?

That's Boggy gone then! apart from the odd guest appearance on the news.
Best wishes to John, I hope he enjoys his retirement, and his shed of course. I shall miss his infectious laugh.

How come he's getting out a few months early? Did he do a special deal?

Perhaps he's been with the Corp for his allotted term for pension rights, doesn't need to do any more.

I'll miss Boggy too. Sad It's the people that make the station what it is, almost as much as the music.

That's very true, Helen - I'm sure much of WUTW's appeal comes from the good-natured banter between Terry, Boggy, Deadly and Fran (and from Paulie when he was with us).

Boggy will be coming back occasionally to read the news on Terry's show, I assume he has negotiated a contract saying thus.

This must mean Terry has signed a contract too, or will be doing so soon Very Happy
