Don't put ideas in his head!

It's amazing how wonderfully diverse Radio 2 can be. Sharp and cutting edge one minute. Mo Dutta and What's Your Fave Pancake? the next!

R2 from 2:00-7:00pm. Oh, I gave that up ages ago so I guess that don't count!
Ernie, Mark Goodier mentioned your hero, so has he gone up in your estimation now?

No it was too late. I've switched over.

BTW I have a few favourites or "heros" I presume you mean Chris, but equally he could have mentioned Wogan, Gambo or Bob Harris. Or even Helen Mayhew. Smile They should bing her back to late nights.

I switched over to David Jensen on Capital Gold.

Still uses the "kid" sometimes. He's good, not at all stuck in the smashy and nicey style. Quite business like links without the requests to text in our favourite tropical disease or some such.

Mark you are missing the point. They are ok if they are

a) not blindingly obviously made up about 2 minutes before the show (ie. what day is it today. Oh yeah, its pancake Tuesday. I know. Lets ask the listeners what their favourite pancake is)

b) developed so that if listeners suggest something interesting they run with that as opposed to just listing off (maple, chocolate, etc) endlessly

He "jokingly" said that he should have an "All requests March" (in time for yearly review) as "all requests Fridays" may have his highest listening figures. Maybe he is concerned about this figures for the rest of the week Cool

Maybe he's got ideas as he's involved with behind scenes at R2. I can see Mark being the controller of R2 one day.

Exactly. Which is why there's so much juice to be wrung out of many of Baker's brainwave topics - Like "Which Celebrities Did Your Parents Have An Irrational Hatred Of?"! and "Which Two Songs Sound The Same?" (currently on the go) Danny cited The Bachelors "Charmaine" and their own "Diane" !!

I was referring to Mr Evans. I presume you are referring to Mark G when you say "he is involved behind the scenes" Or am I mistaken? Cool

Thats commerical radio who want tight links expecially capital group with complaints they used to talk to much with not much music. Mark Goodier is good with his tight links, actually most are. Radio 2 is here to entertain.

At least mark dosn't comment on how do you do popmaster, as he gets stuck in as a true pro.

Yes, you're quite right - at least we haven't got Richard Allinson with his constant Popmaster witterings.
