Yes and a wonderful interview as well. Ruscoe only lasted 5 months at Oxford. What happened there then?

Classy bird, not.

Imagine waking up to her each morning? Shocked Surprised It's enough to curdle milk, as my late mother would have said....

Sybil didn't seem to be at R2 that long either. Does anyone know why? The rare times I heard anything of her shows (usually if I fell asleep in the chair - Out of tiredness, not boredom, I hasten to add- while listening to Bob Harris) they sounded very good. One wonders if it was anything to do with the very anti social hours.

Apparently Ruscoe left after finishing the 6 month contract Oxford gave her. She told the Oxford Mail that she was leaving to "pursue other career options" and would be returning to do shows from time to time on a freelance basis.

They dont give much job security at Radio Oxford do they? Rolling Eyes

Not much job security at local radio at all, it seems. Being an ILR DJ must be nerve-wracking!

I'd welcome her on Humberside

Sybil Ruscoe replaced Lynn Parsons on weekend overnights in July 2003. In July 2004, she was dropped due to the introduction of Bob Harris Friday and Helen Mayhew. Sybil was only contracted for 12 months and the station decided not to renew her contract due to the above changes. Charlie Jordan was drafted in as the interim host of the overnight weekend slots for 12 weeks from July to September 2004. Sybil Ruscoe headed off elsewhere, anyway, and wasn't obliged to continue with Radio 2 until the September because he contract had already been terminated by Lesley Douglas.

Personally, I thought she was a poor replacement for Lynn Parsons and would have been much better off on the Dawn Patrol in place of the irritating Sarah Kennedy and her silly show tunes and cat stories. I strongly recommend Sybil Ruscoe as a replacement for Sarah Kennedy. I'd have her blasting out of my white van at 6.45am!

Now now Phil, please refrain from using a thread about Sybil Ruscoe as an opportunity to gripe about Sarah in the repetitive manner that you used at R2MB. Evil or Very Mad

There is a gripe section here somewhere, but again please avoid repetitiveness.

I will issue you with a minor warning just to ensure you are completely aware of rules which admin posted in the Naughty Step section.

Too right - if you have a choice of being left in a room full of starving alligators or owners of commercial radio stations, go for the gators every time.

No, I'm not bitter....not bitter at all! Laughing

(Giz a job, Lesley!)
