Don't know about you lot but I really have to ask myself where Radio 2 is going with this. Natasha Bedingfield? I ask you, do we really have to listen to this sort of rubbish?

"I wanna have your babies, springing up like daisies" and that will undoubtedly be the best track on the album as this is the only thing she seems capable of. She's just the sister of someone else who's a bit famous and who fortunately does have a better singing voice even if his stuff is not my cup of tea.

I have a lot of respect for Ken Bruce and his wide appreciation of musical genres (except for his obsession with Lemar) so it does make me wonder whether his Albums of The Week are chosen for him or whether he does have any input.

Well, he's had some good ones over the years - I can cast my mind back a couple of years to when he featured "Falling Water" by the Swedish singer-songwriter Lisa Myskovsky, someone who had never featured on R2 before, but an album which I immediately bought on the strength of listening to the first two days' offerings from it, and have never regretted it.

Sure, some weeks will be a popularist's choice - the new Robbie Williams, Coldplay or Snow Patrol releases will undoubtedly make it, but in my experience once in a while there's a complete gem featured. His Record of the Week this week, incidentally, is Jesse Malin's "Broken Radio", which includes backing from Bruce Springsteen: this was first played (to my knowledge) on the Bob Harris Saturday Show about a month ago - not exactly a mainstream choice since Malin isn't exactly a household name on either side of the Atlantic.

Like most of <if not all> of the hosts, I don't think Kenny, has a lot of say as to what he plays, or the albums they plug. Personally, I dislike Natasha <great name tho, very classy Laughing Laughing Laughing > I find her voice quite annoying.

Didn't Ken litterally bin one of his records of the week once because he didn't like it?
