It looks like Sarah is taking next week off as Aled Jones is covering for her according to the schedules. |

Seems a little strange to have 3 main presenters off on the same week.
Iain Smith reckons Sarah has had a little chat with LD and been told to recharge the old batteries!! _________________ The Voice of reason in a MAD MAD world |

Fantastic show this morning. Aled still does these little segments where he gets the listeners to text in about things ( like he's stressed about moving house ) |

Doesn't every desperate presenter who can't think of much to say ask the listeners to text in about inconsequential tosh?
Have you ever shouted at the radio? Text us now on 88291 and tell us all about it. Only please text us really soon as I need some more material in the next 3 minutes! |

LOL at Chris. He mentioned that Aled was in for Sarah this week and voices off mike with Chris coming back to say that was all he was going to say & he would leave it there! _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Overall, I'm enjoying Aled standing in for Sarah, but if I can add a very small criticism. I think he's trying just a little too hard and he is not totally at ease with either himself or the format. _________________ Geddon

Aled is ok a sort of winding down between Alex and Wogan rather than the step change we are more used to. |

Perhaps it's me.
I find Aled Jones all weak and feeble-he needs to harden/toughen up a bit imho-still from what I heard from him this week he is so much better than the woeful Sarah Kennedy.
Still they need to get Richard Allinson back on the Dawn Patrol show-he sets the benchmark of how a show should be presented. |

So, according to Aled this morning it is still not clear whether the lovely Sarah will be back in the chair next week. So does this mean that Lesley D. still has not taken a decision on her future with R2 yet? |

She may actually be unwell, for all any of us know. I'm not her greatest fan but I would sympathise with her if she is unwell and/or has other problems. Are you suggesting she be fired if she takes off more than 2 weeks sick leave? _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

No. I'm merely wondering what the real reason for her absence is and what the likely outcome is to be. There are rumours that LD was furious at her indiscretions during "that show". |

The mighty Richard Allinson is shortly back from his holiday and returns next week (Tuesday) on BFBS Radio 2 at 9am.
Maybe this will change if Lesley Douglas needs a decent presenter for the weekday schedules on BBC Radio 2. |

Yes, it's because of a certain ex-poster repeating the phrase "this presenter is c**p" over and over. |

Hmmm, since some of the banned words are now not strewn widely throughout this forum, as adjectives for presenters, maybe I could release them unto the members once more, for mild and proper usage of course
So the following will be allowed, none begin with f nor rhyme with hunt.
Well you can try and guess what they are first
carp
bastard
prick
pillock
willy wonker
tosser
cr@p

'poor (in my opinion)' = Charlie Romeo Alpha Papa
'illegitimate so-and-so' = Bar Steward?
'willy wonker' = W-anchor?
'prat' = P-illock, T-wat?
I'll let someone else have a go at the last one!

Well done Mi Lord!
Of course crap was one too. So those words are allowed once more as usage is minor and not every other message
A few remain censored, including 'would of'. Whenever Mark writes that it becomes 'would have'..... and you thought his English had improved
Soz Mark, but it's for the best, keeps firewirefred a little bit quieter, not much though.

Well never mind using all these un-banned words; back to the thread, I thought Aled Jones was rubbish standing in for Sarah and as for that Dreadfull McCall, pleasssssse can we have Sarah & Ken back soon, or at least some half decent stand ins.

Well Richard Allinson probably has had all his holiday entitlement for a while/rest of the year I would have thought.
Lets hope the Radio 2 management see sense and get him back on Radio 2 as cover next time the regulars have their holidays.
Steve Wright must be due some time off soon (hopefully). |
