Following the recent passing away of my mother I have inherited some of her record collection.
I have inherited music by artists such as Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell (outstanding) Burt Bacharach,Tony Bennett, Andy Williams, Waylon Jennings etc.
These are mostlynew artists to me. I'm working my way through these CD'S etc and I have to say there is some really fine songs/tunes amongst them.
What do others think about some of these artists-indeed are there others that perhaps you might like to recommend I seek out.
Thanks |

Sorry to learn of your mother's death, Mark.
I don't have any special recommendations but all these artistes should afford you much enjoyment.

My condolences on your recent loss Mark.
No doubt you've heard some of Andy Williams' stuff ('Music to watch girls by' to name one of his that has been played in recent times) Tony Bennett is a similar artist to Andy Williams, both can be filed under 'Crooner'. Burt Bacharach is quite likely to have written songs for those two, also artists like Dionne Warwick. He had a songwriting partnership with Hal David. Waylon Jennings is a country & western artist. Have a listen to Bob Harris Country to hear him, Terry Wogan & Johnny Walker may well also play him from time to time.
Hope this helps _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

Sorry to hear about your mother, Mark.
Slightly surprised that Joan Baez and Joni Mitchell are "new" to you - does the boy Allinson not play them from time to time?
Andy Williams was OK but a bit bland and manufactured, Tony Bennett had a jazz edge to his material and delivery. For "crooners" you cannot beat Nat King Cole and Bing Crosby - they put all modern pretenders, male and female, who like to think they can shimmy up and down the musical scale but just make an awful noise in the process, to shame. _________________ Ron |

Our thoughts are with you at this time, Mark, from the Geddon Household. It would appeaer that your Mother was a lady with good musical Taste. I am currently enjoying the best of Harry Chapin. _________________ Geddon
