Quote:
Virgin goes commercial free
May 23: National pop and rock station Virgin Radio is going commercial free on bank holiday Monday, in a deal with Magners Irish Cider. The day will be sponsored, allowing more time for the music.

The station is running a Great British Bank Holiday Monday, where every artist and band between 6am and 6pm will be British.

More of this maybe?

Its hard to compete with the bottomless pockets of the BBC

Virgin Radio is an excellent radio station imho.

I listen to a number of the shows and really enjoy them.

Russ Williams is still a great DJ.

Well, I blame the inanity of Radio Aire and The Pulse for me losing a job as a volunteer in a charity shop.

And Fru Hazlitt should get the blame for wantig to end Planet Rock and replace it with what I'll call Planet Moron (in tribute to Mel Brooks's original title for Spaceballs - changed as Morons From Outer Space came out around the same time).
