In HMV Birmingham last week (place full of young people, it being school half-term) where they were playing the Pigeon Detectives' album, the penultimate track of which includes the line "What the f*** are we doing here?" repeated several times.
I know the word is not exactly foreign to the average school pupil but I'm surprised that there appears to be nothing to legally prevent stores from relaying such material at a time of day when, were it to happen on radio or tv, there'd be questions in the House and heads would roll.
I looked at the CD on the shelf, and the usual black and white sticker advising of explicit language is conspicuous by its absence. Browsing further, I noticed that none of the "usual suspects" (Lily Allen, Amy Winehouse, Beautiful South, Prodigy) had them either. Does this spell the end for the Parental Advisory label? _________________ Ron |

I think the average response to the presence of such a label would be "So what?" by most people. Let's not forget, also, that most younger customers now download their music - either legitimately through iTunes, Play.com, Amazon, etc., or illegally through bit-torrent p2p servers - anyhow, so it might be only the more mature customers who get to see the label.
