I saw the 'black comedy' called 'The Flags' last night in Liverpool. It was the worst night in the theatre that I have ever spent. Despite the best efforts of the cast including my favourite actor Andrew Schofield it could best be described as a 'laugh an hour' (it lasts for two hours!) Speaking to people after the play, the comments ranged from 'sheer torture' to 'like watching paint dry'. My advice to anyone is to give it a miss. |

Blimey! Thanks for the warning!
What was the building like? I stopped going there after being booked into a broken seat a few years ago and ending up in a 3-way argument with staff and another punter. |

Hi Ian. No complaints about the building or the staff. Upstairs were we usually go the seats are a bit cramped (I'm over six feet), but as the crowd was so small for this play we were moved downstairs and had a wonderful view of the stage. Just a pity that the play was so poor!
If Gene Wilder and Zero Mostel had chosen this play in 'The Producers' they would have had the flop they wanted and would have walked away with the money for the old lady investors! |
