Zoe in for Ken I mean.
I'm sitting here (or is it "sat" - can never remember) and wondering whether Norman has got Zoe up the duff on purpose so that he doesn't have to sit and cringe while she makes a complete ass of herself with her appalling lack of musical knowledge.
Never mind putting money in the pot for every time she said "excellent", how about a fine for every time she mentioned her bloody family or her dad or where she lived on the beach or how many times she had to say "here on Radio 2" - which seemed like every 30 seconds? The Beeb could have paid her maternity leave out of what they could have collected.
Thursday plumbed new depths with her "text and email subject" of what young children say and Friday's chorus of "woo-woo" every time she mentioned it was Friday was just too much. I honestly thought someone had retuned my radio to my ILR or worse, Radio 1.
I was crestfallen at the recent news that she was getting a regular weekend slot. All I can say now is "Thank you Norman" |

LOL, but how I agree with you! It really did sound like Radio 1 all over again.
I'm listening less and less these days.

I do welcome the return of Ken with open arms however I have enjoyed Zoe's transition to Radio 2 - her first few shows last year on the network were awkward and full of mangled sentences but now I find her very wam and cosy to listen to. I'd be very happy to hear her take over a more visible show in the near future - Saturday nights between 6 and 8 might not be a bad idea. |

Well anything would be better than what we have on Saturday nights at the moment Nick.

I have mixed feelings about Zoe Ball. On the one hand, she seems like a really nice, warm, friendly person who seems anxious to please. On the other, she witters, gabbles, and is falling into the Dermot O'Leary habit of dropping into the verbal version of bold, underlined italics - that explosive kind of whispering to emphasise something.
I shall be glad to have Ken back. _________________ Minx

I like Zoe, she's pretty good, but then I like Commander Ken too... If I had to choose, I'd go for Zoe but only because Ken is unlikely to enjoy shopping and shoe talk. |

I'm sure Zoe is a lovely person, I would just much prefer to hear Ken as his sense of humour tickles me. Also, he doesn't shout! _________________ MiS |

I thought Zoe did OK.
I found the music played on her show had a lot more variety than Ken's. Take a look at the music played in the first half an hour of Ken's show today, pretty rubbish if you ask me. |

I like Zoe too. She does gabble a bit but I don't mind that. She's human.
Mind you I like Kenny the Bruce as well - despite the rather predictable music. _________________ (signature and avatar removed, violated forum Rule 2.) |
