now I am among friends and without the fear of upsetting the moderator to the extent that my post is modded. I cannot stand the present breakfast show, as many from the old board will probably know. However, whlst I would love to listen to R2 in the morning, I am finding it impossible to tune into another station that has the gentle format of Terry Wogan and even Graham Norton. Local radio is dire and commerical worse, so would welcome anyone from the West Oxfordshire area who can pick up a decent fm radio station (mostly driving to work) with music, news and chat. The CD's are running out and silence is boring!

Now if I was Peta I would tell you to play CDs listen to the many light music radio stations out there ( not the BBC presumably) or switch your radio off, yes seriously that was what I was told!

Jill, i'm in the outskirts of Coventry East and occasionally listen in to BBC Cov & Warks 94.8.

I think it's 'Tim and Marion' up till 9.00am, the chat can be good, often very local subjects though. The music, well, it's very teenie, motown and soft rock. And seems to me aimed at the ladies!

I do wonder what the ratio of women/men listen to C&W in the daytime because I can't see it appealing much to men, particularly when Annie Othen, Bob Brolly and Vic Minett are on air!

Are other local stations like that?

Ideally I would listen to my MP3 player as I loaded a lot of nice songs on I like.

Unfortunately I don't like to do that on a bus, but I do that in my sister's car on my way to my elder sister's in Bury because I can't do with Smooth FM or the Pete Waterman's Greatest Hits compilation my sister and niece like!

When my boss takes me to an assignment in her car she currently has a chill-out compilation on.

Yes, Sadie Su that's what I was told, along with I-player etc. Not a happy experience! Sad

My mum's stopped listening to Radio Leeds as she misses Andrew & Georgy on weekdays - she turns it to Radio Aire now as she's not keen on Martin Kelner's co-presenter Katherine.

If you like Lynn Parsons you can listen to her on Smooth FM from 4th October 6am to 10am until the end of the year
After that it's Simon Bates
