Anyone catch this last night? Julie Walters did a great job portraying her. At times it was almost possible to imagine it actually was Mo Mowlem.
I didn't particularly like Mo Mowlem, as I found her a bit "in your face" and unnecessarily crude at times. The docu-drama made a good point though, which was that she might have been suffering from her brain tumour for quite a long time before it was actually diagnosed, and it may have led to what she herself termed her "dishibitive" behaviour. She posed the question - how much of how her personality was in fact her, and how much was due to the tumour altering her persona.
It was a very moving programme, very well done. _________________ Minx

Did they recreate any of the real Mo's appearances on The Wright Stuff? _________________ We are loonies and we are proud!

Didn't see that. But at the beginning she appeared to be acting as a compere in a fairly crass amateur talent/karaoke show - don't know what that was all about. _________________ Minx

I thought it was a good drama with a very good cast. Obviously we already knew the ending but it was very moving all the same. I particularly liked David Haig who played Mo's husband and the fellow playing Adam Ingram whose name I can't recall.
Mandelson came across as a slimy git.
All in all a decent drama, probably an award in it for Julie Walters sometime. |
