He played Gene Cotton's 'Me & The Elephant' this week. I remember Noel Edmonds referring to the misheard lyric 'just to kill an OWL or two' in this!

I really enjoyed today's show, Johnnie sounded much perkier than of late. Could it be the difference between a live broadcast and a recording? I do wish that he could get more airtime.

Yes today's show was great, Johnnie sounds so much happier when he's doing a live broadcast! He did one a couple of weeks back just after he'd returned from his holiday.

I'm a bit disappointed that Johnnie couldn't have played something less overplayed than 'Nights In White Satin' in memory of Tony Clarke, the Moody Blues's producer.

When I worked in Royal Mail, we used to sing 'Nights on the sorting, never reaching the end...' (of the mail, which kept coming relentlessly!) Laughing
Ditto:' Relax, said the nightmen. we are programmed to receive, there are letters piling up, but at six oclock, we can leave!' (Hotel California) Shocked

Briant, that's brilliant about the Royal Mail! I think my current job situation deserves a reworking of Question (as in 'Why do we never get an answer...'), because some firms give me the green excuse that printing out a letter to say I've got the job or not will be costing the planet's resources.

I just think it's bloody rude myself.

Joan Armatrading's onhold music ought to be 'One Song, I Have But One Song' from Snow White - they only ever seem to play 'Love & Affection' by her on air.

I'm listening to last Sundays show on Listen Again and have enjoyed hearing an old favourite by the Kursaal Flyers. I wish this show was on at a better time, I have to work every Sunday now! Sad
