Did anyone catch this BBC TV film last night? It was brilliant. Michael Caine, Leslie Philips, Sheila Sims, a guy whose name I can never remember who was in the Incredible Ripley series. It was about a young boy who hates living in the his parents' retirement home.
Very enjoyable and terrifically moving portrayal of an old man approaching senility. _________________ Minx

Yes, it's excellent (as was The Damned United last night). There's a trailer running for "BBC Films" at the moment which shows the breadth of great films they're currently making. They don't get the hype or awards of Film4 but do seem able to make populist films that aren't too arty or insult the intelligence. |
