Supposed to be visible after sunset in the Western sky Has anyone seen it?
I have fairly clear skies in Sussex, but not a trace. Am I looking in the wrong area? |

The best comet I saw was Hale Bopp. It was visible in the western sky in the evening and the eastern sky in the small hours of the morning. I can't believe that was 10 years ago now! |

Well I flounced out to the west balcony and I have to report I could see sweet bugger all...
I remember thinking as a tin lid back in the 60's that Halleys comet was going to fanatstic to see after looking through my astronomy books.
Well what a let down that was.... |

C/2006 P1 McNaught is up to 2nd magnitude now so you should, although you really should be looking around dawn as it's getting close to the Sun (and will soon be lost in its glare). _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

Like Hale Bopp, is it better seen in the Eastern sky in the morning? |
