Thanks to him for playing the Stranglers' 'Waltzinblack' at the start of the show last night! It was the theme tune to Keith Floyd's series 'Floyd on Fish'.

Hugh Cornwell has been quoted as saying one of his first paid gigs was to perform at Floyd's restaurant, on the Floyd 'This Is Your Life' and in his autobiography.

What do I do on a Sunday or weekdays now? Recite shopping lists through Agatha Christie's Play Your Cards Right? Kick the screen when Cheryl Cole's sanctimonious mug comes on?

Gideon plays great music and is a good presenter.I lived in London when he was on GLR and was good then,the station that also gave us Fi Glover who has worked on R5 and R4 and now seems to have dissapered which is a shame

I wasn't in the catchment area for GLR, but I've read that a lot of the main 6 Music presenters were ex-GLR (e.g. Phill Jupitus).

This Wakefield resident suffers the godawful Radio Aire and Radio Leeds for local radio - fine if you like Pixie Lott and the usual fembots, but not for me.
