If you were feeling a little gloomy when you woke up this morning, don't be too alarmed - today is statistically the most depressing day of the year.

Going by the comments about BBC2 early shows it is living up to the name

We laugh in the face of Blue Monday. It stopped raining, Waitrose was empty ( of shoppers), Superdrug have cleared out all their Christmas junk and restocked with proper stuff, the sun is shining, our Snowdrops are peeping through the lawn, spring is in the air, Chris Evans is back, Alex Lester hasn’t been away, I’ve just had my first ever cup of Green Tea (what’s that all about?), London is calling me like an owner calls a dog , come on come on, and I’m as happy as a pig in Portsmouth. Blue Monday, pah! Smile

I first heard the reference to "Blue Monday" about 30 minutes ago and thought it to be a direct reference to the fact that the insufferable Evans was again assaulting the mic and insulting our intelligence on BBC Radio Boring. However, it wasn't specifically so.

That aside, who makes up all this rubbish about "Blue Monday" or "Black Tuesday" or "Green Saturday" or whatever? What tosh!

The worst thing about today is that it's grey, not very warm and raining proverbial cats and dogs, but it could be worse; the roads could be covered in ice and snow and Radio Caroline could be off-air and therefore not able to keep me company as I work!

The afternoons are getting a little bit lighter, too.

It's stopped raining here so I went for a stroll round my woodland-type garden. There are so many shoots coming up and the snowdrop flowers are on the point of opening. They are the single variety rather than double as they are more attractive to any early bees.

What a silly mistake.... Like every thread here no matter what the original post within a short time someone will turn it into a whinge against Chris Evans. I decided yesterday to pay the place a visit to see if it had changed but obviously not! Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Point taken, but that's probably because we're still stuck with him

Get him doing more TV stuff and away from Radio 2 and I'm fairly sure the problem will go away VERY quickly
