Sadly the leading light behind Pans People has died. I well remember tuning in to TOTP to see what outfits they would be nearly wearing this week

Flick Colby certainly left her mark on the world of choreography having been one of the original members of Pans People until 1972 when she left to concentrate on working on their routines

It was a sad day for me when Pans People performed their last routine on TOTP in 1976 to be replaced by the far more boring Legs and Co and even worse after that Zoo

I think Flick and her colleagues were a big part of the lives of many teenage lads around the late 60s in the days when sexy routines were still very unusual anywhere let alone on a prime time pop show on BBC One and the dance routines themselves were performed brilliantly for which Flick must take a great deal of credit

In the days of wall to wall pop videos it's strange to think back to those days when artists could not always appear on TOTP and so without Pans People the show would have had some major problems in dealing with the situation
