The standard ( HMRC ) HM Revenue and Customs treat there customers are so poor according to MP's in the treasury select committee. They have problems not able to answer phone calls at peak times, and delays replying to letters.

Remember there has been cut backs in staffing levels over the years. HRMC said they have increased there staffing levels, but poor IT system didn't help. |

They don't even answer calls at off peak times or reply to emails either. My friend owed a very small amount and they demanded a cheque in payment and said he would be charged interest if he didn't send it. The amount was so small that they wouldn't take the payment by card! _________________ Pirate Johnnie Walker played my request on 11 April 2009 |

I don't have any issues personally, my small business accounts are pretty simple, but the statements I get from HMRC are very baffling, just saying what's debited and credited is very complicated.
Hopefully they come out with the right figures but I can just imagine many people with more complex business accounts looking at these statements and thinking Wha?!? and getting on the phone. And not getting a good explanation.
Just to make life simple I expect a lot of business folk will keep things simple and not declare all their income when filing tax returns. _________________ -
