Tragic death, she could have achieved so much, and had an important influence on the music scene and singing styles.

She died far too young

Very sad news... Good voice, but the demons in her never really got sorted, and the added problems with addiction to drink and drugs may have finished her off. RIP

It seemed inevitable sadly, 27 is far too young for anybody to die.

Ooh....can I be controversial?

Without disrespect I have every sympathy for her family and loved ones who don't deserve to lose someone so young but she's hardly the greatest music artist the industry has ever experienced.

A career spanning approximately 8 years and her most airplayed song was just a cover version....probably making more money for The Zutons than herself.

The media will be falling over themselves not to say a bad word in her wake but the truth is she had a lot of chances to sort herself out and all the support she could possibly have wanted but she chose to turn another corner.

Alcohol and drugs take people from this world every day. Some never make the news and the only ones that ever do so are solely for the fact that they are "famous".

RIP Amy.

To tell the truth Angus she was not my cup of tea at all and as I suggested earlier this was always going to be the inevitable outcome.
I feel sorry for her parents especially her dad who due to being on a flight to NY was one of the last to know she had died, upon arrival the poor guy had to fly straight back to London, there is something really wrong with that I think. Sad

Eh, we haven't Mark, see the thread Rolling Eyes

Amy seemed a hopeless case, but of course she was paying money for all those drugs and someone she knew was getting them for her..... they are the guilty people here, find the supplier and charge him with manslaughter I say.
