I can't say I was bowled over by the BBCs adaptation of this novel but to be fair it was a tall order as in my opinion the book is exceptional.
Having said that I was expecting it to be better than it was.

Ok, there is bonking in the book but I'm not sure why they felt the need to show the lady with her thrupenny bits hanging out.
Also the ending was confusing, it looked the final scene was 1917 again but it can't have been Confused

I wonder why they completely missed out the 1978-1979 parts out, I feel these should have been included not least because of Stephen's promise to Jack Firebrace regarding his deceased son.

I don't want to sound whiny but it really could have and should have been better. Sad
