A very versatile actor but personally I will always best remember him for his appearance in just the one episode of Fawlty Towers - a classic comedy performance brilliantly acted
I know he played many other roles and only a couple of weeks ago I noticed that he cropped up in one of the early episodes of Heartbeat which I had never noticed
He'll be fondly remembered and sadly missed _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

Aww, I'm so sorry to hear this. I remember him fondly from Waking Ned which I think is one of the best films ever made.
By coincidence Charlie and the chocolate factory was on tonight with David playing Grandpa Bucket. |

Yes, the Fawlty Towers episode! O'Reilly (or Orrelly, as Manuel called him ) was memorable. Taking his life in his hands as he announced to the fuming Sybil: "Oh I do loike a woman with spirit!" |

I used to like him as the one-armed dishwasher Albert Riddle in Robin's Nest.

He was brilliant in Robin's Nest. I was watching them last year on DVD and he came out with some great lines!
Such as the time he was having trouble making egg on toast and asked "How do you stop the egg dribbling into the bottom of the toaster, Mr Tripp?". |
