Big Phil is pretty miffed this morning. Who took the last tea-bags from the Kitchen area?

We know. Smile

My former boss in the early 80's used to regularly cut teabags in half in an effort to save costs - unfortunately none of the girls in the office were very good at sewing so we had to resort to a tea strainer Smile

In addition he used to go round the office removing flourescent tubes from double light fittings to save money and he insisted on members of staff using pro forma letters to clients which he had concocted himself so as to use the minimum number of words thus saving on the cost of typewriter ribbons - yes no computers in those days not even those that filled a whole room Laughing

The ironic part about it was that he ended up committing suicide about twenty years ago as a result of financial problems Rolling Eyes

I once worked alongside a girl who liked very weak tea so she used to have third go with a teabag after two others who liked their tea strong and not quite so strong. Smile

Blimey. Tea bags are weak enough as it is - takes ten minutes to infuse to something which tastes of anything.

I have a friend,Eileen, who will only drink a cup of tea if the tea -bag has had just the most fleeting of meetings with the boiling water...and I mean fleeting .....he might as well just drink hot water. Very Happy

RockitRon, perhaps teabags were stronger in the 1960s.
Becky, your friend's idea of a cuppa sounds quite horrible - but each to their own Smile

I have a phobia about drinking mugs of tea only to find a horrible soggy teabag lurking at the bottom

I now check every cup of tea made by any third party to ensure that there aren't any nasty surprises - I've had this problem ever since teabags came into common use but I've no idea why Sad
