Drug-driving in England and Wales could become a specific offence, with a potential jail term and fine, under a new law expected in the Queen's Speech.

This should have been introduced some time ago.I think a lot of things which happen when driving should be a specific offence?

After last weeks bloody nose then they may well need too. Obviously this is a thinking in the Queens speech, but Cameron needs other important issues to convince the electorate - than getting the police to pull over a few thousand drug users.

It's just more fluff and nonsense to distract us from the real problems. I thought even being in possesion of drugs was illegal- so why do we need more laws to cover spesific cases of drug use? They'll say we're getting tough on drug users but it's just not true. Making specific laws to say you can't do "this" or "that" when out of of your skull on a substance that it's already illegal to have, means that it's probably ok to do the other. It's back door legalisation of hard drugs. Not that any of it matters or that anyone really cares.
