Just in case anyone heard JV Monday when he was discussing the Olympics then heard my name and wondered why I didn't speak.
Well I sent in an email, thought nothing more, then all of a sudden heard my name coming out of the radio but JV was expecting me to be on the other end of the line which of course I wasn't. Nobody called me so he ended up reading out the email. He then assumed I wasn't listening as I said I was at the point of switching off anything to do with the games. I emailed back to say I was listening and had not been called, so got another mention!
Later on a journalist who was to speak about the Hyde Park unplugging wasn't on the line when she should have been. They eventually got her, but it sounded as if she wasn't expecting to be on either!
Whoever was doing the calling up obviously wasn't on Monday, but it gave me a bit of a shock I can tell you!

I did hear your mention, but this does seem to be part of a wider problem with the BBC's phone network. Presenters across all networks are losing phone calls, or getting them at silly times. An outsourcing problem, I think. |
