Disability rights pioneer and Labour peer Lord Morris of Manchester has died at the age of 84. 'We wouldn't have all these rights for disabled people if he hadn't introduced disability rights'.

RIP.

Yes, I know Mark. I have a radio, a TV, a web browser and other stuff to keep me informed with newx that broke late this morning.

Many thanks all the same for your intrepid reporting.

I too heard it on the news and was saddened by it but would like to pay my own small tribute to someone who worked so tirelessly for disabled people by mentioning it on here.

Former North West Tonight anchor Gordon Burns said: “Sorry to hear of death of Lord Alf Morris. In all my years covering politics for Granada TV & BBC he was one of most decent and caring politicians of all.”

Eleven-time Paralympic gold medallist Tanni Grey-Thompson – who is also a member of the House of Lords – hailed the contributions from Lord Morris.

“Sad to hear of death of Lord Alf Morris. Fantastic campaigner for disabled people,” she said.

Thank you Becky. Colin had to be arrogant and rude about this thread. People like him need to show more respect.

Why am I being arrogant and rude? You're doing your usual cut 'n paste job and assuming that you're the sole source of breaking news! Like John said in another thread - we do have TVs, radios and internet connections!!!
