I does not appear to be on any of the main news outlets yet but I just read this on the Time Team Facebook page.
"It is with a very heavy heart that we have been informed this evening that our dear friend and colleague Mick Aston has passed away"
Sad news, I always enjoyed all of the experts on Time Team, a great program. |

Oh, this saddens me. I've probably seen every episode from all the Time Team series (they were constantly on Discovery for a while) and regarded Mick Aston as a mate 'on the telly' so knowledgeable and friendly, always wished I could sit with the guys and have a pint at the end of the show. _________________ -

That is sad news and unexpected. I enjoy Time Team. He was such a big part of it and he was always worth listening to. |

Sad news.
I didn't realise he had left the show, saying it had been dumbed down. |

I hope they do some kind of dig in his honour, everybody could wear stripy jumpers while doing it.
I think that is the kind of thing he would approve of.
Time Team made archaeology trendy and that was down to the experts like Mick & Phil Harding along with Tony Robinson's ever enthusiastic presentation.
Poor fella, I wonder what happened. Apparently he'd been unwell but his passing does seem to have been unexpected. |
