If I was built like a tank and thirty years younger I probably would have one, probably around the bicep area but nothing ridiculously big and all over the arm?... hideous imo.
I wouldn't mind seeing them on a girl, if again they were subtle and maybe just one or two.
But too many, too big and the - oh so common, twirly design on the lower back? no thanks..

I don't have any tattoos, I can't understand why people have them but I have a theory- it's lack of pockets in the human design. You see if we had a little pouch pocket thing like kangaroos do and we felt the need to look at a picture of a rose or an anchor or an Eagle etc etc.. we could just keep a picture of one in our little pouch and then when the urge came over us , just take it out and have a look. Bingo!

On The Chase today one of the questions asked was which of three Scottish actors had the words "Mum and Dad" and "Scotland Forever" tattooed on their arms...it got me wondering if the words Mum and Dad are still popular requests for tattoos along with Love and Hate on fingers?

What have you got on yours, littlepieces?

Becky I have 2 Celtic bands on my biceps and one on my forearm.I also have a tatt of A well known Pink floyd piece of art where a face is screaming out of a wall.
One thing i would never do and that is get a name of a partner which would be silly if you split up

I'm not a fan of tattoos - to me they just seem like a form of human grafitti Sad

I would never have one but I suppose they're OK if they teach you something!

Here are a couple of verses from a song written by Yip Harburg and made famous by Groucho Marx Laughing:

Lydia, oh Lydia, say, have you met Lydia?
Lydia the tattooed lady
She has eyes that men adore so
And a torso even more so
Lydia, oh Lydia, that encyclopidia
Lydia, the queen of tattoo
On her back is the Battle of Waterloo
Beside it the Wreck of the Hesperus, too
And proudly above, waves the red white and blue
You can learn a lot from Lydia

Lydia, oh Lydia, that encyclopidia
Lydia, the queen of them all
She once swept an admiral clean off his feet
The ships on her hips made his heart skip a beat
And now the old boy's in command of the fleet
For he went and married Lydia

When I lived in Plymouth, you'd often see the wide-eyed and uniformed "tiffies" (Naval Artificer Apprentices) coming from their ships at Devonport Naval Base into the notorious Union Street and after a bellyful of beer they'd have a tattoo done as a token of undying love for the girl they'd just picked up in a nearby club or brothel. It did cause a few problems when they went home to see their girlfriends they next time they were on shore leave!

It disturbs me to see some lovely young women having lots of tattoos etched onto their arms, legs and backs. What will it look like in 50 years' time?

The other day I asked my elder son what he would like from me for Christmas as I didn't want to waste money buying something he would not appreciate - he may well get some surprise presents as well

This morning he told me he wanted a second tattoo - the first one having been done while he was on holiday in Spain last year - and he told me he'd paid a deposit and had an appointment date of 4th December

Whilst I wasn't overjoyed at the news I think he has given quite a lot of thought as to what he wants and it's not a 'spur of the moment'thing

In any event as he's a semi professional darts player and has recently started playing bass guitar in a local rock band then it's probably only par for the course Smile
