I thought the first series was brilliant, but the second left me feeling really disappointed. Gillian Anderson, who'd been one of my favourite actresses, really began to irritate with her botoxed face, permanently open mouth, and glazed stare. She didn't so much deliver her lines as gasp them out as though each were her dying breath. I don't know if there'll be a third series, but I don't think I could stand to watch her stonewall her way through another six parter. _________________ Minx

I thought much the same about her performance as Miss Havisham in the BBC's adaptation of Great Expectations,Minx.

I've seen online that some think the measured way she talks in The Fall is so she maintains an English accent throughout in much the same way as Maggie Gyllenhaal did in The Honourable Woman.
I just found it very irritating in both cases.
( Better luck next time,nod) |

I can't see that clip Becky, much as I'd have loved to. Firefox, (which seems to be having a nevous breakdown on my laptop at present) keeps insisting the Adobe Flash needs updating when it doesn't, and blocking links.) But I see from the comments that a number of people have asked what was going on with her lips.
I don't remember her being so wooden when she was in X Files. I think I recorded Honourable Woman so I'll have a look at that over Christmas. _________________ Minx
