The songwriter and one time husband of Tony Hatch has sadly died, aged 74. As well as writing many songs for people like Petula Clark she had a number one hit in 1965 ( I think) with "Where are you now". Brian played this as part of my "Loose Connections" selection

Yes, she reached no 1 in May 1965 with Where Are You Now My Love, knocking The Beatles' Ticket To Ride off the top spot. A great song, which I would not have liked at the time.
She wrote so many good songs with Tony Hatch. What a pity the morons in the media mention only the ghastly Neighbours theme. |

I remember disliking it enormously at the time, but it was a great song.
Sad news.
