I put all my loose change, up to pound coins, in a savings jar. When I've got around £40/50 I change it at my bank and treat my granddaughter.
After reading this article I checked the 50p's in the jar.
According to the article one that I've got.... The Battle of Hastings 50p coin.... could be worth up to £3,595. In another article I've read it says it could be worth £5,000.
The Battle of Hastings 50p coin is one of the most sought after in circulation, but it's not technically rare. It was created to remember the day when King Harold II was defeated by William the Conqueror, leading to the collapse of the English army.
The coin, which commemorates the 1066 battle, was printed by the Royal Mint in 2016 when it first entered circulation.
How much it's worth: There are around 6.7 million of them about - and have been known to sell for as much as £3,595

I keep looking to see if I've read this wrong .... |

I certainly am,Eileen.
They say that nobody beats the BBC for costume drama but, apart from everything else, the costumes and settings in this production are quite breathtaking.
The only thing I'm not keen on is the, opening and closing, modern music..it just doesn't fit! |
