Does this bunch of ConDom numpties who are desperate to convince us they're a viable "government" really think we're stupid?

Now, we're told that we're going to be able to go ahead with developments without the need to go through the usual local authority planning processes. The theory, as I understand it, is that we can club together with others in our neighbourhood and take decisions ourselves. Oh yeah?

Yeah right. Then a developer comes along, offers to grease the palms of every householder in the locality and then get their plans approved by us under this great "big society" (aka "big con") initiative.

It seems that an Eton / Oxbridge education isn't an indicator of any degree of common sense.

I like the quote 'incentives will be given to communities which agree to new homes being built.'
For incentives, read bribes.

The Conservatives always bang on about 'bureaucracy' and 'red tape', but they don't realise that bureaucracy and red tape are there for a reason, in this case to stop home owners selling off their back gardens to greedy developers, building unsightly extensions and paving over front gardens (and we wonder why there is so much flooding).

I think Labour also would have relaxed planning controls as well, by the way.
