Will Bob go for another presenter presenting a specialist show, will he go for a straight replacement for Mark and the format of his current show, or will he go for something completely different.

I think Bob might bring in Lynn Parsons into the vacancy.

I'm probably one of Lynn's biggest fans but I don't think even she would be of the view that she would be right for a specialist show of the kind Mark presents

If the format is changed she may fit the bill but I would much rather see Lynn on a permanent daytime show and leave the specialist shows available for those who like them and judging from the strength of feeling on here that seems to be quite a lot

I can't see an adequate substitute for a bloke who spends three or four months of each year driving around the USA checking out small specialist record stores in off-the-track towns for music he's never heard before.

Perhaps Bob "I don't really have a clue" Shennan should just extend Alan Carr's contracted hours and be done with it.

what about Peel's son.. he sounded ok on his last outing.

How dare Mark leave Radio 2! where am I going to hear some good Rock & Roll or even better Rockabilly music now?
Oh yes, my Internet Radio.. but even so, I'm very disappointed to learn he's leaving.. you'd think these disgruntled presenters would get together and confront this Bob Shennan git...
Shame on you Mark.. leaving Buzzcocks was bad enough.

Peel's son would be a good choice but there's plenty of great presenters on 6Music that could make the transfer. Guy Garvey or Cerys Matthews would be nice.

Liza Tarbuck and Richard Madeley have all been rumoured to take up some slots at the station. I bet Gambo gets shifted around again.

I nominate Phill Jupitus as he's sat in for Jonathan Ross a few times and knows his specialist music - but preferably if he's got Phil Wilding co-presenting.

I thought they really were a team on 6 Music, and when Wilding got dropped you could sense the frustration.

I reckon Trevor Nelson or Steve Lurpack will get the slot.

Not the chatty man show with Alan Carr, but the squeeky show with Joe Pasquale Laughing

Pasquale at 6.30-9.30am weekdays, perhaps? That would be an improvement on the incumbent, that's for sure!

I wouldn't go that far. Most people maybe. I don't think I could stand Joe Pasquale any more than Evans or Carr. I wish people wouldn't keep planting these ideas in their heads. They really don't need any more encouragement!

They could change it to 'text in if you know anything about the 60s and I'll just read it out', that would fit Rolling Eyes

Actually Nod that might be more interesting than what we have now

I'm sure there are plenty of facts about the 60s I either don't know or have forgotten and I'd quite enjoy hearing these irrespective of who was presenting the show

In this day and age when nearly everything is interactive its not really surprising that today's presenters incorporate modern technology in their show formats and there's nothing wrong with that in my opinion just as long as the presenter can handle it in an entertaining way

That's the bit that's normally missing in the text-in format Rolling Eyes

Maybe I've hit on something by mistake, if the listeners have interesting facts then maybe it would work BUT as long as it's not the old 'here's a stupid question to text to' and I'll just read it out Very Happy

I just thought that Noddy Holder would be an idea as a presenter for a 50's rock & roll show - Get Down & Get With It was originally learned from Little Richard's version, I read in his autobiography.
