Quote: | The former ITV This Morning host confirmed he will join next year after sitting in for other presenters including Chris Evans, Simon Mayo and Zoe Ball.
Richard, 63, in Florida with wife Judy Finnigan for the BBC1 show Who Do You Think You Are?, told a fan on Twitter: “Filling in again in January and should have my own weekly live programme next year.” |

When the BBC announce it, then it's news, at the moment, it's a twitter rumour, and not a very good one at that. Who needs wiki-leaks |

There's also a rumour circulating that he's in line for the vacancy at The One Show.
He and Chris could job-share both ends of the day! _________________ Ron |

Matt Baker seems to be the front-runner at the moment - again, according to "rumour". |

I see The People is living up to its reputation for high-standard journalism as always. Madeley is claimed to be 63 years of age. That's impossible - he's younger than I am so that instantly advances my age somewhat.
Another example of useless reporting from a useless rag. |

I thought he was younger than that - I would guess about 56?
Just searched and he's 54 _________________ MiS |

Didn't we hear the same news about him getting a show on R2 in 2011 several weeks ago? I immediately thought the age was wrong. Maybe Judy, but I've no idea of her age.

I know Madeley can be a bit Partridge but I'd rather have him doing a weekly show than Jo Whiley or Alan Carr. He seems a bit more in tune with the average Radio 2 listener. |

A bit of a damning indictment - he's not as bad as some of the rubbish Radio 2 broadcast.
The BBC may be dumbing down, but for me it's not dumb enough! |

Madeley is arrogant announcing already that he has secured a permanent gig on Radio 2 in 2011.
Sums him up really. |
